Walt Elias Disney, known as Walt Disney, was an American cartoonist
and television producer. He was famous for creating Walt Disney
Walt was born in 1901 in Illinois. He began drawing when he was a
child. Not surprisingly, in Chicago he attended McKinley High School
and Chicago Art Institute. Some years later, he became a newspaper
artist and then started to work at Kansas Film Ad Company.
Next, he decided to open his own studio house and, with his employee
Harman, screened a cartoon called Laugh-O-Grams. Moreover, Walt
produced the first series of fairy tales, Alice in Cartoonland.
Unfortunately, his house studio went bankrupt in 1923.
Therefore, he decided to move to Hollywood where he started the
Disney Brothers Studio with his brother. After creating Oswald the Lucky
Rabbit character, he gave birth to Mikey Mouse, featured in Plane
Crazy and Gallopin’ Gaucho.
On the other hand, in the short Silly Symphonies appeared new
characters, including Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto and Minnie Mouse. He
also produced the first coloured cartoon, Flowers and Trees, which won
an Oscar. Additionally, in 1933 he created The Three Little Pigs. His
first full-length animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, was
awarded eight Oscars. He also produced Pinocchio (1940), Cinderella
(1950), Mary Poppins (1964), etc. In 1955, he created Disneyland
theme park in California.
Walt Disney died in 1966. After his death, more Disneyland theme parks
opened all over the wold. During his lifetime, Walt won 22 Academy
Awards and nominated 59 times
